Horizon 2020 and SMEs

A large number of entrepreneurs answered the CPN’s call to attend the program ”Horizon on Thursdays” on July 17 (VIDEO, REPORT WITH PRESENTATIONS) [:]

Seven days after the CPN’s initiation of the program ”Horizon on Thursdays” on July 10, at the Science Club, and the Horizon 2020 presentation for the media and the citizens, a lot of entrepreneurs answered CPN’s call to attend.

A presentation of the project Horizon 2020, a European Commission’s fund, worth almost 80 billion Euros, was held for small and medium enterprises in a crowded space of the Science Club.

The presentation is a part of a new program, Horizon on Thursdays, and it’s being held by the CPN in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development.

The aim of the program is to inform and support everyone who wants to apply their project for the new EU fund. The program will be continued after a short summer break and the CPN is already preparing multiple events for the scientific community, SMEs, society and basically everybody who is interested.

Among the participants, the event included Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, as well as Ministry of Commerce, Tourism and Telecommunications, and among others: Starlab Tech Accelerators, Serbian Chamber of Commerce, SEDP Business Incubator, Belgrade.

The gathering was welcomed by Aleksandra Drecun, the CPN’s Director, after which PhD Aleksandar Belić,  State Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, and  Stevan Nikčević, State Secretary at the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications gave their speeches.

They were followed by Viktor Nedović, Assistant Minister at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, who presented the details of Serbia’s participation. The audience listened carefully to Tijana Knežević, a national contact person for SMEs, who presented a thorough introduction to the financial instrument support to small and medium enterprises in Horizon 2020 (download the presentation here).

After a short break, Gordana Danilović, CEO of SEDP Business Incubator and a member of the Program Committee for SMEs addressed the audience, after which she was  followed by Branislav Anđelić, the evaluator of the project proposals for SMEs, who offered a number of advice on how to write a project (presentation, part I, part II, download the presentation)

After the presentation, the audience was given a chance to have their questions answered by the State Secretary Belić, and the Assistant Minister Nedić. The event that took place at 6pm, and lasted for about two hours, was moderated by Slobodan Bubnjević, on behalf of the CPN.
