Under Pressure

An exhibition, depicting the life of people suffering from multiple sclerosis, was held at SANU gallery, in the cooperation with CPN[:]

The international photo exhibition, themed: Under Pressure (“Multiple Sclerosis: Living under pressure”) was opened at the gallery on March 25.

European Multiple Sclerosis Platform supported the realization of the project “Under Pressure”.

After the opening at the European parliament, the exhibition was held throughout Europe, and it came to Serbia, which is the only non-member country that hosted the exhibition, straight from Lithuania.

The exhibition features around 30 photographs of people suffering from MS captured in various situations. The photos were taken by some of the world renowned and award-winning photographers, including Volter Astrada from Argentina.

The exhibition is held as apart of ”Creating Advocacy Strategy for Neuroscience in Serbia” project, supported by European Federation for Neurological Sciences, and Neurological Society, and it is a result of cooperation between Serbian MS Society, Serbian Neuroscience Society, CPN and SANU Gallery of Science and Technology.

Until April 1,visitors will have the opportunity to see the exhibition that has already been held throughout Europe, and after that it will be moved to the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.

In Serbia, there are more then 5500 people suffering from MS. This neurodegenerative disease and it affects the white matter of the brain, causing pathological changes of the central nervous system and it disrupts the ability of parts of the nervous system to communicate, resulting in a wide range of signs and symptoms.

MS is one of the leading causes of paralysis, and there are more than a million people, world wide, affected by the illness.
