The CPN’s Science Club hosted a round table discussion with the topic ”Young researchers: their position and opportunities”
On Thursday, May 29, from 12pm to 5pm, the CPN’s Science Club hosted a roundtable discussion with the topic ”Young researchers: position and opportunities”. The discussion was organized by a local coordination unit of the Regional Research Promotion Program (RRPP) in the Western Balkans.
The main focuses of the discussion were problems, opportunities and the position of young researchers in the area of social sciences in Serbia. The participants of the round table discussion were researchers, policymakers, the media and various organizations’ representatives.
The discussion was opened by PhD Aleksandar Belić, State Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, and Ivan Stošić, on behalf of the Institute of Economic Sciences and the local coordination unit (RRPP).
During the round table discussion, the participants addressed several issues: research in the field of social sciences in Serbia, the issue of studying abroad, as well as the position of young researchers at the Universities, Institutes and Non-Governmental Sector. The results of the discussion should serve as a contribution to analyzing obstacles that would help young researchers advance, and deal with the challenges they are facing.
