Hiroshi Ishiguro from Japan and one of the most creative contemporary scientists in the world visited Belgrade as CPN’s guest.[:]
Professor Hiroshi Ishiguro from Osaka University in Japan visited Belgrade and the big robotics exhibition on Tuesday, October 9th, 2012 as a guest of the Center for the Promotion of Science and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
He is one of the researchers named as one the living genius in the world and is the scientist known for making his own android copy. This are the reasons Professor Doctor Ishiguro visit draw huge attention from the media and the public in Serbia.
Ishiguro gave a lecture titled “People, Androids and Media” in Belgrade on October 9th at 7 pm. After the lecture, at 8 pm, Ishiguro took part at a round table with the discussion topic “Where to Draw the Line Between Humans and Robots?”
As the Director of the Laboratory of Intelligent Robotics at the University of Osaka, Hiroshi Ishiguro and his team have developed a new generation of human alike robots – the so-called Actroids, robots that are very similar to humans that have facial expressions and show emotions.
Ishiguro is engaged in researches that are trying to develop humanoids that are faithful copies of humans and he has developed a robot that is an exact copy of him.
